Enjoying the setting sun on the east bank of the Mighty Cape Fear River
I really think the birds and other animals take in a beautiful sunrise or sunset just like people do. This heron let me follow him as he walked the shallows over to the rock he's standing on. He sat quietly for a long time until I slipped on the muddy boat ramp and landed flat on my back... Whacked the back of my head on the concrete, but saved my camera. The things we do for a shot. I'm not sure what happened to him, but he was gone when I came to my senses.
